Default First Hunt for 2007

I got out today for about three hours first trip out of my yard with my Exp.II. I thought I would try it in the wooded area beside the park untill I get the pinpointing worked out a bit better. I didn't want to tear up the grass turned out to be a good move on my part. This park has (like most others) been hunted over and over. My first signal was a spot someone before me had dug for, it was a bottle cap. Next signal I could not find so I went back to the car and got my whites 6000DI still couldn't find it. I continued hunting with the whites and found a clad dime. Then I deceided I wasn't ever going to learn the Exp II if I didn't use it so I switched back to it . Walked around the base of a large tree and found five memorial pennies (three copper and two clad) all within about a foot. I walked about six feet and got an iffy signal kicked away the leafs and saw someone had dug for this signal also I dug anyway since I was more in a learning mode then anything else to my surprise out came a penny.I rubbed away some dirt to see if it might be a wheat I about gave out a yell it was an 1892 IH. Walked about eight more feet and got another iffy signal and would you believe it someone had dug for this one as well. I couldn't believe my eyes when I rubbed the dirt from this penny it was a 1901 IH. A bit deeper in the woods and the shotgun shell rang out it was at least 10 inches deep maybe a bit more. Walking the side of a walking trail I found another clad dime and the rifle casing at more then 12 inches deep.(Oh I forgot the flatten bullet it was the first target other then bottle caps and pull tabs only a couple of inches deep) The two IH's show why you should not clean them the petina looks much better then the pits) I think Im going to like the Exp.II.sorry this is so long, Good luck to all and have a great day, Richard (Gizmo)

WTG
It does take some time to get used to the Minelab, but it is well worth it .

I don't remember where the post is, but there is one that shows the actual screen. With it you can hear the different tones when you pass the cursor over it. It is very helpful in understanding the machine.
I think I posted it a while back but I don't remember where it is.
If someone can remember where it was and repost it you can learn a lot from it.

Default Very Nice

Looks like a pretty good hunt in my opinion. Love those IH's. Bet you figure out that EXP II in a quick hurry. Good luck.

Like the indians, And I agree with not cleaning them, Much better to leave the original patina intact.
