Just happened to see this little guy move as I was looking at the pear tree in my backyard. It is less than 1/4" long and I have no idea what it is. I am in south west Georgia.
Now that is a weird bug. I am guessing it may be in a larval stage.
Looks like he had chili for lunch with those flames coming out the back end,
I have no idea either.

It was identified as a plant hopper and it was in the larval stage. I went back out to see if I could find it again and it was right where I found it the first time. Only this time it had changed.
