No way! I tripped and fell on cement steps after detecting, and skinned my knee. I also got a red ring around the skinned area. I think it was some sort of infection from the dirty sand off the beach. And yes, I cleaned the wound, but that surprised me! All cleared up! Stay out of that water....yuck!

I was in Manila, Philippines for 3 weeks in a beautiful 5 star hotel overlooking Manila bay. From my 17th floor window I could see the fancy yachts every where, but no swimmers or fishermen. I finally got to the bay to find out why. I was a trash and turd pool. No Thanks.

Learned to dive in New Jersey and have seen some poor vis conditions but if the water is that kind of dirty I believe I would rather search the beaches or coves for bottles. Trip to a river next week and vis of two feet is considered "Good" but great place to find bottles!!!

Every once in a while,, a sewerage treatment plant is shut down for planned or emergency maintenance. We have had sewerage seep into Eastchester Bay because of a break. If the tests results from the water quality come back as "Pollution", then the beaches will be closed. It was only as little as 50 years ago where raw sewerage was being dumped into NYC waterways.
